Woori Yallock 14.16.100
Upwey Tecoma 12.12.84

We headed over to Upwey to play our most important game of the season so far. a win would solidify our spot in the top 3 and a loss would’ve sent us back to the pack and fifth. The boys started in scintillating fashion kicking the first 2 goals of the game in quick succession and looking red hot. Upwey sprung into action and banged on 6 goals in a row taking advantage of somegreat work out of the middle. To our boys credit we settled down and got one back before qtr time to be down by 19 pts. Upwey kicked the first goal of the 2nd qtr and things weren’t looking good until Jack Cole came up with a masterstroke and moved Joel Smith forward. Joel proved inspirational and was on the end of some good work kicking our only 3 goals for the qtr. Woori dominated the second qtr but wasted opportunities kicking 3 goals and 9 behinds to be down by 11 points at half time. The 3rd qtr was another qtr of dominance by our boys and our best qtr of the day kicking 6 goals to Upwey’s 0. It was a great display of football from the whole team and we were unstoppable to hold a 25 pt lead at 3 qtr time. The last qtr was a real arm wrestle and a really good contest but the Woori tigers were too strong coming away 16pt winners. It was another great display by Zach Monkhorst helping Smeds, Haydos and Kaneo play great games and our match winner Joel Smith snagged 5 big ones. Well done boys
